ARTIST STATEMENT
Nancy Williams has been drawing since she could hold a crayon. From art camps in her youth to a Fine Arts degree specializing in Drawing from the College of the Holy Cross, she has pursued her love of art in all aspects of her life. Nancy captures harmonic scenes of everyday life, particularly those along the shoreline and in portraiture. Inspired by her travels with her family around the United States and Europe, she strives to capture the vibrant qualities that can be found in life’s simple pleasures. These adventures have given her new perspectives that she works to translate onto paper and canvas.
Nancy has focused her studies on drawing, painting and sculpture throughout her primary and secondary education. In the years following, she has completed numerous courses in painting and drawing from Internationally recognized artists, is an Authorized Copyist at the National Gallery of Art, and is a graduate of Glen Kessler’s widely regarded three year Master Artist Program at The Compass Atelier.
